A lot of racer wanted to be a part of it, only to fail to get in. Gergő made the final draw. Any racer who is participating is an established racer. So we expected this to be a tight competition in both of the pools.
Funny thing about hungarians, that we see our national league as the primary thing. That also led Roly to skip the whole EAS tournament. But you can't relax on EAS, if you want to be competitive, as Gergő learned. Though he competed well with the others, he got the 6th place in the sprint race, and 7th (last) in the main race. He was not happy about it, but we all said that it was already a big deal to race there.
He put a bit more effort into preparing for the South City Long event. He got the 4th grid after the qualifying in Pool B. The field got seperated as the first four pulled away. After a cuple of laps, Gergő threw his fxo to the wall. A rather uncharacteristic move. I don't remember the last time he ever did that in a race. That meant last place for him, but was able to regain one position from Rob of NiC.
Main race saw him riding on the 2nd place, where came the first turn of Lap2 and two racers went side by side which resulted a collision, costing Gergő his 2nd place. As the race went on, he lost two places and gained one, finishing 6th.
Next event is at Fern Bay Black with LX4s, we wish Gergő to drive like just the same way he used to drive at home.
Our fellow hungarian/alien Norbi started from the 3rd, then got knocked out in the first corner along with Osiris. This resulted a 6h place for Norbi, and also a better grid position than n1lyn in the main event. Osiris and Norbi was able to pull away, as n1lyn fought through the field. That gave Norbi a 2nd place in the race, and also in the standings.
Our driver's quote: ,,I always dreamed of taking part in a well-known and prestigious
international event, and EAS is that exactly. Although I wasn't able to
show excellent performances on the races we had so far, but it's clear
now, that my driving ability makes me belong to this community, and I'm
proud of that.'' |
